Terms
Kindredly is a small place with a few plain rules. Here they are, as briefly as we could write them.
1 · Who may use Kindredly
You must be at least 18. Kindredly is for adults — letters here go to strangers, and that is not something we can make safe for anyone younger. One account each, and not one we have removed before.
2 · What Kindredly is
A place to write letters to strangers, matched by how you write rather than who you are: sentence length, rhythm, punctuation. No profiles, no photographs of faces, no way to search for a person. Names are exchanged only after five letters each way, and only if you both choose. It is not a dating service and not a source of professional advice.
3 · Your words are yours
You keep every right in what you write. You give us permission only to store your letters, carry them to the people they are addressed to, translate them when a reader asks, and screen them for safety. We do not train AI models on your writing, and we never sell it. Your journal never leaves your phone.
4 · The rules
No harassment, threats, hate, sexual content, or promotion of self-harm. No asking other members for money. No sharing anyone's private information. No advertising or spam. No pretending to be someone you are not. Letters pass an automated safety check before delivery, every letter carries a report and block control, and we can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
5 · Other people's letters
A letter written to you belongs to the person who wrote it. Read it, keep it, answer it — but do not publish or redistribute it. We screen for safety, but we cannot verify who anyone is. Use your judgement.
6 · First Class and Cofounder
Kindredly is free, and your first kindred always will be. First Class is an optional subscription sold through the App Store; Cofounder is a one-time purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in your Apple ID settings, at least 24 hours before it renews. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Deleting your Kindredly account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
7 · Leaving
Delete your account any time in Settings. It is immediate. Cancel any subscription separately in your Apple account. If we close an account for breaking the rules, paid time is not refunded.
8 · The legal part
The service is provided as is; we cannot promise you will find a correspondent. Our liability is limited to what the law allows and to what you have paid us. Nothing here removes the consumer rights you have where you live. These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, and we may update them — the date above will change, and we will tell you in the app if it matters.
